Lavender Farm, a little bit of Provence in Ireland

Wexford lavender farm

Did you know there are places in Ireland where you can feel a little bit like in Provence, France? I didn’t.

I heard about the Wexford Lavender Farm from Nora. She was super excited about it. I didn’t know what to expect, but I’m easy. I’m happy wherever we go. I always look for a silver lining that makes me an awful reviewer, but I think it makes me happier person.

I should appreciate lavender more since this lavender bread was the greatest hit of this blog. Anyway…

So one Saturday morning we decided to go on a trip. The weather was mixed, as usual, we got some scorching sunshine, we got some rain, but most of the day it was just grey.

As for my impressions of the farm they were mixed as well. On good side is that, the farm is great place to spend your day out. There is a cute cafe, kids’ playground, quad barrel train ride, a few woodland walks, so there is a lot to keep you busy and relax. They even had a room where you can organize a kid birthday. The smell is beautiful but not overwhelming. The flowers are gorgeous.

On bad bad is the farm isn’t that big. I think, it’s easy to  expect never-ending fields of violet like ones in France (I’m guessing, I’ve never seen any lavender farm, that was the largest for me. But again there is a silver lining, when you do close-ups it doesn’t really matter how big the field is.

I took too many photos of flowers, the bees were so busy that it was real challenge to take a photo where they are in focus.

I didn’t take so many close-ups in a long time. I forgot how fun is it. I always get tempted to go back to times when I was photoblogger. No words, just pictures.

Thanks Nora and thank you for convincing us to go there! You know yourself it’s not just camera. Maybe I can still fix it, if I only had a time to deal with it.
