Lately life was busy. Good busy. I meet with friends, travel, cuddle cats, etc. But I also feel I’m chasing my own tail, there are so many things to do, see, read, watch. There is no time in the world to do everything.
I’ve got some inspiration from amazing podcasts I follow The Art of Simple Life and The Lively Show on how maybe I could approach this. Lately I’ve learnt how is it to live on a bus, how to declutter and even why, and how to create a capsule wardrobe.
I’m not going to live on a bus (I checked with Tomek and he said no) and I probably won’t create a capsule wardrobe, but I do want to embarrassed some of the rules. But I started to declutter.
A wardrobe went first. I’m far from shopaholic, but man I have too many clothes! There is stuff I’ve never had bought, but I did, because instead of buying something perfect for me I agreed on something ok, that later hated. Or I bought something cheap, because it was on a sale, or I just wanted something pretty to cheer me up.
I threw away a lot of stuff, I’ve packed my summer clothes and my wardrobe looks so much better, but to be fair I still need to do more cuts.
Have you read about Mark Zuckerberg wearing one shirt? I would love to have most clothes that just work in almost any combination. But no, I’m not a one dress kind of gal.
I plan to do similar purge in the kitchen and other areas of life. Although I don’t think I will touch cookbooks though 😉
Somehow when you talk about simple life, you often end up talking about herbs, oils and natural stuff.
It’s been a while since I started to be fed up with shop-bought cold medicines. They don’t taste nice, they are all sweet and I hated more and more. I’ve also been chasing for good cosmetics for ever. It all adds up to the clutter. You know, face creams that just sits in the bathroom, because you don’t want to use them.
And of course there is perfect blog I follow and adore – Ziołowy Zakątek, that promotes healthy living. Klaudyna wrote a book about homemade cosmetics (I should finally get it in 2 weeks), but she also writes a lot about natural medicine. So now I’m doing my first apple vinegar. And when I have it I plan to make this syrup for cold and maybe some tonic. I’ve never thought of doing my own vinegar, but apparently the one you buy in a shop is pasteurized (that makes sense), but because of it, it doesn’t have full microbiological properties, and it doesn’t have full digestive and disinfection.
I’ve also bought some books about herbs I’m hoping to read. So fingers crossed.
So that’s what has been on my mind. Wish me luck. And keep checking my Instagram, as I’m heading to Barcelona today, yay!
Have a great weekend.
