Simple waffles

It’s Irish summer. It means it isn’t hot, but it is still warmer than in other seasons. It means it can rain slightly more than other seasons. As always you can’t trust weather forecast more than 12 hours ahead.
I would love to go for holidays. For some reasons it won’t happen at least for next month or two.
But short weekend is coming and than long weekend is coming and then friends are coming, so there should be some sightseeing and relaxing in closest feature.
In meantime let’s talk about waffles.
For me they were always one of summer symbols or at least holidays or Sundays (the patisserie was just around the corner).
Waffles taste the best at seaside. Especially if you are 12, and it doesn’t matter that you dunk your hat’s cap into whipped cream.

I haven’t own a waffle maker for ages. I’m very reasonable person, so you won’t find too many gadgets in my kitchen. Before I buy something I think it over, and over, and over. Sometimes I think too much, but I hate wasting money.
The waffle maker that we finally brought during our last trip to Poland is actually a present. The present I asked for. My best friend got two waffle makers as a wedding gift, so after quick consultation with Tomek we decided to adopt. You know it’s no good when the waffle maker is lonely for too long.
We made a few waffle parties with it. Those were really nice parties.
So if you like taste of summer, or just taste of something special, make waffles.

What kind of toppings do you like?
I’m not picky, I can eat waffles with an icing sugar, nutella, jam, fruits.
The most festive version would be a waffle with jam, whipped cream, fruits (peach, pineapples, cherries), nuts and chocolate sauce. Ok, that is a lot. But my mum always told me to take all topping, so I did…
But at home I would eat them with no toppings, or with simple jam.
Waffles are good when the day wasn’t perfect, there is nothing nice in the fridge and I’m hungry because of looking at delicious recipes, they will be perfect when the day is beautiful and you want to enjoy something light and crunchy at the balcony.

The recipe is so simple. There is no separating egg yolks and whites, no whipping egg whites, simply you mix everything together and bake.
